Originally from Wales, Vivienne graduated Birmingham School of Jewellery in Britain in 1976, the same year relocating to Toronto Canada, where she maintains a full time career as a professional contemporary jeweller. Her studio practice consists of individually produced works for exhibition and sale through galleries and personal commission work.
Vivienne considers her formative years growing up in Wales as an essential aspect of the development of her approach to jewellery making, striving to reflect subtle aspects of nature and sculptural form in her work, her intention is to express a reverence for the simple beauty around us. Her current work continues to be the expression of her individual approach to work in traditional precious materials, meanwhile expanding an interest in non traditional materials such as resin, recycled materials and explorations into the sculptural form.
Vivienne maintains a strong interest in her community and through out her career has been active in art and craft organisations;she is a founding member of the OBJECToronto a collective that organises OBJECToronto-an Art Exposition of Craft and Design held annually in Toronto.
In 2003 Vivienne was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts.
